EVERYTHING you said is why I do not allow myself to pay full price for anything. The triple stitching and better leathers from the Jordans I had in middle and high school are all gone, and the shoes are technologically inferior, but INVARIABLY cost more. As I am one to buy shoes that I intend to wear, I will not pay that kind of money for a lesser product.
I do most of my sneaker shopping in “comeup” mode – I will scour outlets and such for 60% or more off of retail.

I agree on the quality thing, i was not very happy with my fire red 4's but ive always loved sneakers and will continue to collect. The thing with 90's shoes are they are EXPENSIVE to buy because they are "OG" and turn yellow quickly and the soles start to fall apart.

For leather shoes and such, I just use the mr clean magic eraser to clean up my shoes. Works very well.

Anyways, I wish I can love shoes the way I did. I never had some heat, but I still appreciated the ones I had mostly Nike sb. I sold most of my shoes :/. I'm more into janoski's now. They are simple and nice!

Raptor 7's are too sick! im gonna pass on those though since all the 4's are releasing this year those are my priority. Also agree on the Bred 11's that is a must have.

Only down side of nike ID is the time it takes to get your shoes. But totally worth it. You can make the exact color combo that i have! the blk/Mint lol

Haha im with you 100% they are to my opinion not great at all! I dont know what it is aboyt them but i have not one bit of interest in them. and yea the shoe game is getting pretty whack, not just resellers but also the most common company nike! making everything so difficult to get and even online is a struggle to get new releases. they just want more attention i guess... You can walk in and pick up releases at your leisure.

Nike is doing the whole twitter raffle RSVP thing in order to cut down on riots. It is also why they now have the east coast, west coast, and online locations release them at the same time.

From a retailer perspective, it is much easier having people come in at their liesure to purchase shoes after they have won the RSVP.

Before people would have to line up for hours/days on end, security would ned to be arranged for some releases, then you have to deal with people cutting or trying to barge inside the shop. Not really worth it. Nike was essentially forced into this setup. Though Twitter won't be around forever, so Nike will need to implement a new way for people to win the chance to buy them eventually.

I didn't realize how lucky I was until I asked how many Nike Employee Stores there were in the US.

Only 3....I live 5 minutes from the only one on westcoast and get passes regularly. I find it so hard to pay full price for any Nikes unless they are Jordans.

This is exactly like me. I collected. Sold em all when I got into 240's and now the only shoes I get are the ones that I rock on the daily usually chill simple canvas shoes like the janoskis or vans authentics.

I used to work as a CSR for Nike. If you're interested in a particular shoe but don't want to pay retail or simply can't find it the outlets are a good way to go. You can call customer service and ask what shoes they have available at what outlets. Some of them will even ship to you at outlet price. We had repeat callers that did this all the time. It helps to know the style number of the shoe though (six digits usually beginning with a 3)

I get these when I can find em (TNT 4). Best shoes ever for skate or wearing around town.

They were worth bragging cause to ME they were easy to find and just reading all the madness regarding them, endless threads, unnecessary hype, month campouts and the amount people were willing to pay made my pockets feel great. The yeezy 2's i sold within the 1st hr i had them from the store for 2300. Seeing how now you can buy them for less than a 1k.

Gmp i sold for 600 for the set ea. Like i stated i sold them all except for one of them (yeezy 2 in my size). I dont want any more sneakers besides the breds coming out. Other than that nt, sb, kof, sc, fc, im done with. I almost pulled the trigger on the galaxy rookies but after seeing the photos i wasnt impressed.

Everyone talks about how much the shoes 'use to be', but times have changed. Material costs have gone up, employee costs have gone up, operation costs have gone up, all while the power of the doller has gone down. Of course something will be sacrificed in order to slow down price increases.

Most of the people buying the retros are the people who USE to have the originals. It's a piece of the past for them.

All the young kids don't really know who Jordan is, or who Hardaway is, or anything like that.

Their current idols are Lebron, Durant, and Bryant. Which is now why these shoes are shining in the spotlight.

Nike America purposely makes limits on how many pairs a store will receive or how many locations receive any particular shoe.

If nike made foamposites a carryover shoe, nobody would give a damn about the 'new' colorway coming out.

It's all part of the game.

Well, Nike USA is purposely making hype around certain shoes; For Jordan brand retros, and Nike mostly Foamposites, and the occasional whacky shoe in some crazy color way.

There are plenty of good retros models and colorways coming out from Nike and Jordan. Not to mention there are more brands than just Nike & Jordan.

When Nike USA gives only 18 +/- pairs of shoes to only one store in a particular area, the shoe could look like shit (literally), and given enough word of mouth, I guarantee people will camp out for it.

My favoriate Nike as of recent was the chlorophyll trainers, and there was no huge craze over it.

The lottery system is for the business and its customers safety.

Of course, Nike USA could alleviate the headache by allowing their retailers to order however they wish, but then the market becomes saturated, and Nike will have a weaker brand image.

While I agree, it sucks, but it is how things are. Like I said, there are plenty of other hot shoes coming out from brands other than Nike/Jordan.

No one will ever be satisfied.. It's a business and Nike is damn well good at it.. I'm happy there bringing out the 25 year tribute cement 3's.. Old sneakers head have ultra rare shoes that have disintegrated to shit .. Non wearable .. Now nike is making that shoe available yet again so it can be wearable(and to feed the cash cow they have). I think it all goes down to the $$$ . Some people have invested top dollar on certain shoes and now those same shoes are being retro'd and in fault losing value.
