Ok, I got my vlsd out of a hicas/abs s13. It is going in a 90 s13. I know my driveshaft is somewhat longer. What i need to know is where is the difference in length between mine and the abs driveshaft. I don't know the technical terms vut the driveshaft has a longer section (towards the differential) and a shorter section (towards the trans). Where is the different length? What is the "input shaft"?

PS I searched...

the extra length is in the rear half and a ABS one is aproximiately 1/2 shorter than a stock driveshaft. the input shaft is the front half with the inner splined part that slides into your transmission.

ok so... i got the whole drive shaft. What i want to do before installing the differential is swap the abs rear part (towards the differential) of the driveshaft in place of my stock one and im good to go? I can just leave the input shaft that is already in my transmission?

Just install the VLSD to driveshaft bolts backwards, it's worked for others.
