have to get my valve cover off to get it powdercoated, so i figured i might as well have some fun with the spare. went to autozone and got that color changing 3 stage paint in the "ice" style:

Haha, looks like the finish came out pretty good. But yeah, its ghetto fab fo shizzle. It would probly look cool on your wall or something (KA poWarrR!!)... but maybe thats just me. I have a thing with having car parts all over my room.... melted piston, broken camshaft, tail lights.... :hsdance:

it doesn't actually look that bad by itself... if you installed it, on the other hand, I can see it looking really ugly in the engine bay. Not to mention that unless you used high temp paint, I can also see the pain on the valvecover bubbling up. :)

Nice, I like it.

It will look a 100% better when you put the hook the neon lights up

Looks nice, like Adey I would worry about bubbling also.

meh. hopefully it won't bubble up till the other valvecover is done. gonna go install the sucker now and see how it looks in the bay.

I happen to think it looks very nice....the one thing different I personally would have done(DONT FLAME ME!) Is do the raised letters (nissan and etc.) in a very contrasting color,so they stand out and you can read them very clearly....but thats just my weirdness:)

yeah, it kinda looks alright in those pics, but in person its prolly diiferent...

on another note, wouldnt it be cool to have something stamp or weld a "KA" logo onto the valve cover? i think it would be cool to have something like that...but then again im weird

but man its been a while since im actively post on zilvia...
what kind of manifold is that and when did you change it? last time i was here.. you were still using that 12b turbo and some custom made top mount manifold...

i say keep it, it looks cool, just block sand the top of the letters aso they stand out then clearcoat it

Any clue how difficult it is to get that breather pipe out of the valve cover so you could tap it for an AN fitting???

P.S. I think it looks pretty good. The color goes well with the block.

Nobody beats AceInHole for having car parts around. There was already a valve cover hanging on the bathroom door when I was there in July.

i did something similar to that... painted it black and then polished the nissan part. looked muuuuch better...

i had a black valvecover with the sanded letters. i was about to sand the letters on this one but i decided against it for some reason i forgot.

as for car parts lying around.... i have pistons/ rods/ rings lined up on a shelf, a clutch, flywheel, and pressure plate next to them on display, another polished valvecover sitting next to a polished timing chain cover. the valvecover on the bathroom door was sold with the ported/ polished head which was then replaced with a warped head to use as a jig to fix the old manifold to sell it, which is sitting on the kitchen table next to the box for the D2 coilovers which is filled with old dirty shocks/ struts.

then there's my porch, with like 20 tires....

anyways, thanks for the props/ flames. in person it supposedly looks very nice (or so says every person that's seen it so far). as for pink, Thon is a friend of mine, and he took pink already, and he's one of the guys that already saw mine in person and claimed it was nice.
