not familiar w/ the shops around there but around Atlanta you can probably find a better deal. An OEM replacement clutch (Exedy) is not over $200 ($200 is REALLY pushing it, you can find OEM replacement online for like $110 last time I checked) and labor itself is usually under $300. Of course alot of shops won't do labor only they usually make their money off of parts mark up.

I would pay 5, maybe 550 tops (for aftermarket) 3ish to 400 for oem.

NOPE. Most shops make their money on labors. That is why shops are there.

Example as Dinan. To change clutch is 16 hours. $100 bucks an hour. Any person can get a BMW clutch done within half day.

i normally charge around 600-650 with tranny gear oil change, new pilot bushings, TO bearing, ACT clutch of your choice, + flywheel balancing and resurfacing as well as diff oil change... :ugh: once i get a lift and a dyno the price will drop but id say 500 or so it ok....

Oh. I was not aware of that. I've always thought they made alot of it off mark up on parts. Anyway I think the whole thing (all hardware, flywheel resurfacing) shouldn't be more than $500.

Resurface flywheel - $50 at a machine shop. Clutch/pressure plate/throwout bearing - $150 for oem. New slave - $13. Fluids for tranny/diff if they do that would be like $20. $240 in parts. $260 in labor is 4 hours at $60 an hour. I don't know, but it takes about 2 hours to swap if you know what you're doing. I wouldn't pay over $400 for it.

75% of the cheaper shops in Los Angeles charge $175 + parts. Parts won't be more than $250. $400 would be the most I would pay for a stock clutch.

Make sure you change your rear main seal while you're at it.

If you gonna pay that much, you might as well get an aftermarket one.
Cost me about that to get and ACT clutch and an install.
