I have a 97 kouki and I filled up like a week and a half ago to full. I set my odo to 0 miles, i drive 125 miles and my gas is reading empty now. I know s14's hold 17 gallons, theres no way i drove 125 miles on 17 gallons. What can I do to check what the problem is? I was thinking I should go to the gas station and fill up full again and see how many gallons it will take, if it takes close to 17 then i have a problem, if it takes less then i think my gas needle is just reading wrong. Any other suggestions will be appreciated.

fuel tank sending unit could be bad. Possibility you're getting horrible gas mileage.

could be.

a bad o2 sensor along with other things can kill your mpg significantly.

pull your codes, i had a bad o2 sensor even though it wasn't throwing a code for it. Replaced it and my MPG went up a whole lot.

17 gallon tank on a s14??? my s14's tank is in between 14- 15 gallons as was the other s14's I've owned.

Check your fuel level sending unit they like to fall down into the tank and read really weird, all you have to do is slide it back onto it's fitting in the tank so it's popped back in place and you'll be good if thats your problem

Ya im pretty sure s14s are 17.1 gallon tanks and s13 is 16.2 gallon tanks i think. But ya ill check that out tomorrow, worst comes to worst ill replace the o2 sensor, but thanks for the advice anyways, really appreciate it.

fill up your fucking tank before replacing random shit and assuming you have terrible mileage. see how much it takes. Go from there. Lets think here

I have like a 17.2 Gallon Fill from Empty. Fuel Pump sending unit is getting harder to find. My stealership told me I purchased the last new one in the Nissan System lolz.

So i was riding with my needle on empty this whole time, last night i went to the gas station i filled up 16.54 gallons, and my odo was at 137 miles.. so yea its not the gas needle reading wrong. And i also pulled a code from pepboys and i got a p0325 Knock sensor code. I read about it and i think thats what the problem is. Im gonna try to replace it and see what happens.
