I have two questions about the sohc ka24 to dohc swap. I have read the write up on the swap, and was just confused about a couple of issues.
I have an 89 240sx with a blown headgasket, I have already sourced a 97 motor, I have the intake manifold from a 91 so I will be running it in full OBDI, I have the s13 dohc ecu, and ecu engine wiring harness. My questions are as follows:
for the harness that attaches to the ecu, is that seperate from the main engine harness? if so how long is it, what does it look like etc, and to top that off, if it's seperate, does anyone have one for sale?
The second question, for the engine harness, I have this mess: http://www.amackie.com/wbp/Scan92.jpg sitting at home in michigan...currently I am station in South Korea and will be home in just over one month, with about 10 days or so to do the complete motor swap and hopefully have it running before I have to move out to Washington state...Do I literally pull the entire sohc engine harness, or do I only need to splice off the various plugs throughout the engine bay? I have never rebuilt a motor before let alone swapped one and so the more and more I think about this, the more and more I am freaking out, but there is no other option right now, so it's up to me...my brother in law is a hobby mechanic, so he knows enough to help, but not the specifics on 240's...
thanks for any help you all can provide.
