I am ready to add an oil temp and oil pressure gauge to my sr equiped s14. Any suggestions - electric vs mechanical, temp/pressure range, brand, ect..?

If you're planning on doing any form of racing in an actual organization (SCCA, NHRA, etc.) They don't allow mechanical oil pressure gauges. I would get electrical for both.

Oil temp should max out at 275 or greater.
Oil pressure should max at 80PSI or greater, running an 80PSI gauge on some cars using certain oil and in certain weather might max that gauge out.

Almost any name brand will do fine. Autometer is inexpensive and good. I personally prefer VDO. Mercedes, Porsche, BMW, Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc. all trust VDO to make their gauges and they are inexpensive.

Don't waste the cash for Greddy, Apex'i, or HKS unless you really want some of the peak/hold features or you are dying to be "JDM tyte y0!" They are no more accurate than a good VDO gauge.

Thank-you very much, that information will help me select my gauges!

dont' forget a fuel pressure gauge...
those must be electrical, unless you're mounting your gauge inside the engine bay.
