:newbie: this might sound like a stupid question but here goes:

When i first got my car it had some stickers on it a Eibach springs stickers and a clutch master sticker on the side of the fenders and i wanted to remove them. I though about doing it with a razor but figured that i might scratch the paint so im asking if any of you guys have any better way that might have worked for you. :hyper: please help me i hate stickers! :hyper:

Well, you trues "goo gone" before.
Just peel em off, and this stuff'll disolve the adhesive left behind.
Shouldnt damage the paint.
I wouldnt use a razor, except maybe very carfully to lift the edge.

ok get your moms fan (to dry hair) and put it on heat, and hold it for 20 secs on high heat couple inches away from the stickers, that will make them softer and easier to piel off! :hsdance: :eek2:

Yea on my Z28 there was a dealership sticker thing said something stupid like Jerry's above the rear bumber and I just carefully took a razor to it and then used goo gone to remove the goo.

I don't think using a razor will hurt your paint... at least not if you're careful. On the other hand, I'm pretty darn sure that Goo Gone will!! Don't use goo gone unless it EXPLICITLY states that it's safe to use on paints, preferrably automotive paints.

using a hair dryer will leave you with a sticky mess that's a pain to remove... I'd have to suggest either a razor, or to just use your nails. It'll take some time, but if you want to keep the car's finish, that's what it's going to take!

The goo stuff will take your paint off. I used a little tiny bit and still had some red on my paper towel I used. Can't notice where I used it but def dont use to much.

Like stated before, try the Hair dryer thing to soften the sticker a lil and use your fingernails, old credit card or anything softer than the paint. I really wouldnt recommend a razor, it is too easy to slip and f-up your paint. I caint speak from xperience about whether goo gone will effect the paint, but i do know that WD-40 will take off most sticker residue. The solvents and oil in WD-40 are so mild it won't hurt your paint either.

It depends on how long the sticker has been on there. Paint exposed to air and UV will oxidize and fade. I had a similar issue when I remove/replaced the hood emblem with the JDM one. If its bad get some car polish and try to even out the area...course red oxidizes worse than some other colours.

peel the sticker off, clean as good as you can, spray some degreaser on there and scrub as much more as you can. Then get out the wax, and buff the shit out of it.

Something we used to use at the dealership to take stickers off is a Plastic razor. Not sure where you could buy them, but they worked great. Looked just like razors, only they were bright orange and plastic so they wouldn't cut the paint.

We NEVER used real razors on the paint. On windows for sure, but never on paint.

3m adhesive remover in the wal-mart auto section
pretty sure it's safe on paint and glass as well.
