Hi, to start out I'm this weird thing with my 89 sohc 240 hatch, it was an auto to manual swap by the previous owner and I'm not sure if it has the original ecu or manual ecu

When mess around on the highway, I can only rev to about 6.5k and then it feels like my ecu forced my shift cause it loses power an rpm drops to about 3k, it doesn't hit te redline like I've done in most cars,

Also sometimes when I'm in 5th gear revving about 3.5k it does it again, drops my rpm for me down like I am shifting but I thinks it's the ecu forcing y shift...

I also don't have my 5th/reverse sensor plugged in either...

Any answers would be great... I'm trying to fix all my issues this winter soo I would like to have a list of what to do...

If it has a auto ecu your engine light should be on.

Yeah my check engine light is on but its throwing it because of my speed sensor and my ect, but I still have that retarded shift issue...

Could it be any other issue with my system? Maybe a bad auto to
Manual swap?

This sounds like something I've been readin about..

Could this be a fuel cut? It does feel like I hit a wall and there is no more power... But I take it out of gear and put it back and it's fine...
