hey guys i just put another welded diff in my s13. i had a problem before where the diff made a loud popping noise when making a turn or shifting. well i figured the old welded diff was just worn out since it had over 250xxx on it when i got it welded. so after i put the new one in its doing the exact same thing!!!! now what im asking is could it be because the backlash isn't set right? and if so can somebody explain how to get it right. i've done one a long time ago but for some reason my brain went into retard mode and now i just start second guessing myself so i'm just needing some refreshing. i have search quite a bit but i keep coming across lsd shit. so please any help would be great maybe some pro pointers so i dont run into this problem again.

Also i'll just give you guys my mod list so maybe theres something else i need to look over again.
s13 hatch
rb25det
isis solid subframe bushings
circuit sport upper control arms

megan coils

thanks for all the help guys:hug:

Maybe it isn't the diff and you are hearing a worn CV joint, suspension arm bushing, diff bushing. Welded diffs put more strain on those things especially going around corners. Looks like you need to get under there and thoroughly check everything for wear.

ok well i forgot some information lol last yr i had a welded diff with a ka coils and that was it. it started making the noise then i added upper control arms still made noise. also threw on the solid bushing and still making the noise... do you think the lower control arms could move enough to make that much noise? its stupid loud lol also today i jacked up the rear of the car and let it run in 2nd gear and i could hear it making a clicking noise/ thunking sound?
