Anybody else hearing the news on this one?
I dunno if there are any Batman fans out there, but you don't have to be one to know how much the last two ruined the franchise.
Anyways, they're having a new Bat film coming out, as of now it's entitled
Batman: Intimidation, it may change, but it looks like they're doing things right with this one.
Director: Christopher Nolan (director of Memento)
Batman: Christian Bale
Ra's Al Ghul: KEN WATANBE!
Others: Liam Neeson, Micheal Caine, Morgan Freeman......
Looks like they might get it right this time.

i dont think its the actors they casted to play batman (ok george clooney is bad hehe). its the script and director's fault. the last two were too colorful? (ghey?). the first two were much darker, more like the comic book batman.
from what's known so far (memento director!) this might turn out even better tahn the first two.

Batman: Intimidation (or is it Intimidation Game?) is shooting now in Iceland, and opens in summer 2005. I'm confident this will be very good. It's written by David Goyer (writer of all 3 Blade movies, co-writer on Dark City), and Chris Nolan hates CG, so there won't be any cartoony-looking crap like the last two.
This Batman looks like he'll basically be focused, smart, and driven by personal demons. Kinda like Jack Bauer, but freelance and with a funny hat.
Two things I hope they do in this movie: keep the Danny Elfman theme from the Tim Burton movies, and cast a good black actor for a small role as Harvey Dent. Maybe Laurence Fishburne or Don Cheadle. They set up Billy Dee Williams to eventually do Two-Face back in 1989, then when Batman Fever came out, holy shit Harvey's done gone and turned hisself white!
is Ra's Al Ghul the old guy who wen into the pit to live for ever? i forgot my batman stuff.

Cool, I love dark aura movies. Anyone see Underworld? I watched the making of it, and those guys didn't do any CG either. The way the werewolves were made was astonishing! Hope this next BM movie is good, cause the last one felt like a cartoon.

Is frank miller still writing for the new batman movie?
If he isn't its most likely going to be poop even if Chris Nolan's directing.

It's written by David Goyer
I haven't seen the script itself, and don't know offhand if it's escaped online, but I've read a few script reviews by folks who were allowed to read it. Everything points to it being THE SHIT, not just poop. Miller is damn good, but he ain't the only guy that can write Batman stories. Besides which, if Miller were to write the movie, people would get pissed off that it wasn't based on "The Dark Knight Returns" no matter how good it might be.
There's a two-part interview with Goyer at Ain't It Cool News. Most of it focuses on Blade: Trinity (makes sense, he directed that one) but there's a fair amount of Bat-talk in it, too. Since Lucas shit-canned Frank Darabont's Indy 4 script and I'm not all that confident of his ability to not fuck up Star Wars: Episode III, this Batman movie is now my most-anticipated movie for summer '05.

Batman is the seriously the most badass 'superhero'...
With no powers, he has defeated the entire Justice League, Batman, a dozen or so White Martians, Lex Luthor, and a crapload of supervillains.
Ownage.
wasn't he part of the justice league? man i need to catch up on my comic book readings.

He's not officially...he prefers to work alone, although occasionally he has been a member. He's founded a couple versions of them in a few books.
Technically, HE didn't take out the Justice League, but he held backup plans to eliminate any Justice League member (and presumably any superhero/villain), and they were stolen by Ra's Al Ghoul and used against the JL.
Synthesized red kryptonite to kill Superman
Vibratiing bullet in tune with Flash's frequency (he reflexively vibrates through bullets)
Holographic delusion for Wonder Woman, trapping her in endless dream of competition
Magnesium powder for Martian Manhunter, turning him into a living torch (he's afraid of
fire)
Scarecrow toxin to make Aquaman afraid of water
Suggested to Green Lantern in his sleep that he was blind- then the Ring made his will into reality, effectively blinding GL
Batman not only thinks like his enemy, he's ACT like his enemy. Cheating? Nope, just winning =P
Read Tower of Babel, the trade paperback collection of that storyline
Oh yeah, in the recent Hush story line (Batman 608-619), Batman kicked Superman's ass (issue 612). Very enjoyable read, totallly fun. I don't want to spoil it, but you can PM if you wanna know how. Get the hardcovers (2 volumes) the art is amazing. Batman HUSH

Ownage.
Somebody asked me once what superpower I would choose. My response:
"Superpowers are over-rated. I think I'd rather be filthy rich, super-genius smart, and slightly crazy. After all, Batman is the only human around who can talk shit to Superman and get away with it."

The key is the Batman has no rules in a fight, except he never kills. He will kick you in the crotch, throw dirt in your eyes, whatever it takes. He had Catwoman kidnap Lois Lane andthrow her off a roof to beat Superman.
This is the crux of Batman: he's the greatest detective in the world, most super hero's rely on their powers to solve problems and beat enemies. Batman describes his fellow JLA'ers as untrained amatuers with targets on their chests. He wears black; why? Because all those bright colors Superman and the ilk wear just make you easier to shoot at.
Instead, Batman compensates by honing his body, despite being "only" human to reportedly 80% of peak human potential, is a top 5 martial artist in all of the DC Universe, AND...his fanatical obsession with preparedness.
Given time to prepare, Batman could defeat nearly any supervillain/hero because he will find a weakness and exploit it to death with his detectiveskills, obsessiveness, and ruthlessness.
The new Superman/Batman series by DC perfectly illustrates their differences. Superman prefers to work in the light of day, acting as a symbol of hope for humanity. Batman works in the shadows, because he acknowledges the evil that lurks in the darkness and strikes are bad guys in their own territory.
Being one of the richest and pimpest guys on the planet doesn't hurt either...i mean.. he has Talia Head, Ra's Al Ghoul's daughter....AND Catwoman....AND Wonder Woman...that...is pimp.
Only NightWing is pimper.
didnt he go out with lois lane before?

Hrm...I don't think my Batman history is comprehensive enough...I believe that since she knows Clark is superman, she probably also knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman...I don't know if they went out, but went Bruce Wayne showed up, the two were into some heavy flirtin'.
Although since he had catwoman throw her off a roof, i dont know if she still has the hots for him
In JLA books, its wierd, because they've set up this wierd love triangle between Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman (Who is probably Bi...)
But in batman books, we've got Batman/Catwoman, and Superman/Lois
Halle Berry is a horrible Catwoman, by the way.
