I'm coming out for more than just D1 although I'm looking forward to the actual event. It's going to be nice getting the hell out of Indy for a while and meeting some of the people I've talked to for so long. Plus it's going to be interesting seeing Taniguchi, I drifted at alot of the same places as him when I was in Japan and we went to that same shop (Rio in Hatsukaichi).

I kinda feel the same way as Ryan, I hate staying in one place for too long, and this is an easy excuse for me to leave the state. Plus most of the guys I am going we are all in itogether setting up events in our area so it wouldn't hurt to go on the business side. And we are buying stuff too :)

Have you driven w/ or seen Taniguchi drive before? Watching D1 speeds on TV and watching them fly by at like 70, 80mph in person is COMPLETELY different... (I'm sure you've seen some pretty good amateurs though, so maybe it's not as fun for you.)

Taniguchi used to run a white S13 K's and was on a team called Afterfire. Myself and a few other guys started a club called Velocity (velocity.isfaster.com) and we used to go out, drift and hang out with a few different clubs including Afterfire. They were out of Hiro though so we didn't see them as much as the more local teams, Unicorn, SPY, Masters, M Slippers, Full Moon... lol. Memories. Anywho Rio built his S13 and I believe they built his first S15 as well. Last I heard before I left is that he left to work for Option or something of that sort. Then I few years ago I see him in Option driving the HKS S15 and I was like, I know that dude! lol.

It's interesting about D1 though, there's ALOT of drivers out there that are actually better than many competing in D1. Be it for financial or personal reasons they stay out of it. There is a guy from the Iwakuni area (near Hiro) named Takahashi and his skill level is literally unbelieveable. When I was there he was more talented than Taniguchi and he still is in my opinion. He will never run in D1 or any other series because he is one of those "hardcore" guys that sticks to the mountain.

Anywho it'll be cool to meet you too Adey and Aaron it looks like we'll be making it to the Jspec meet thingy. I'll give you a ring later today.
