Hey, I just got an air compressor, and I was looking in to an air reciprocating saw, but they all say, will cut through 16 gauge steel, I will be cutting my bumber for an intercooler which im sure it will cut through, but does anybody have one and does it cut through thick metal. I would think that it would, I know it would take longer but i dont see why it wouldnt, Im just wondering because nobody says on the product information that it will cut through other metal. just wonderin if I should save my 50 bucks for a boost gauge and just use my cut off tool. Thanks.

I use a sawzall for heavy metal and a cut off wheel for flimsy stuff. Oh and the torch when I can remember to get the bottles filled.

I used a regular circular saw with a cutoff wheel to cut my bumper support. It was fun. Shot sparks everywhere.

I used an electric sawzall to chop up my front clip into 6 smaller pieces no prob... went through thick frame rails easy. Just make sure you get a pack of some good blades at like a home depot or something

I think my mom would have a heart attack if I used a torch, I guess i could do it when shes not home, but thanks for the info, Ive used the torches back in high school, the huge ones that last forever, do any of you guys have the smaller bottles for home use, how long do they last, thanks.

My friend used a sawzall to cut radiator supports off halfcuts and such and I once used one to cut a motor mount off a crossmember :D

Get a sawzall. Airsaws are pretty weak for big metals...
