I've gone around this forum for awhile now. I dont seem any threads that are having the exact same issue as myself, so I'm putting this out there if anyone has info they can supply.

issue has been happening on and off for about 2 months.
noticed the gauge would creep up to hot.
Had a pinhole leak in old reservoir ( damn you plastic). So simple fix. Bought a little aftermarket one to throw in. No big deal.
about a week or so later, drove to my bfs (30 mins away with no problems) stayed for about 2 hours..... left.... car overheated while driving home at night. thought it was weird and it was pretty cool out for the summer (55degrees F outside)....pulled over for about 15 mins. let it cool off. started back up, drove with the heat on (and boy was the heat ON). got it home. Checked it later, fluid was full. no leaks under car. Again, it was just odd.
over then next few weeks i bleed the coolant system, my bf bleed the coolant system, ....every time we did it, the car would be go for about 14 days (each day driven for about an hour non stop). Car was even driving normal in 95degree heat. but after about a few days, out of the blue, again, that needle climbs back to hot.

Bought an oem thermostat.
Had installed at a shop.
Drained the system, put fresh back in. ... she was running great for another 10 days.

like what am I missing?

things to know about the car
50,000miles on the original engine.
AC runs brick cold
Heat runs stupid hot
I have never seen the car run hot if i have either the heat or the AC on.

I saw someone on a topic talk about bleeding the heatercore too for bubbles.
I don't know if they shop tried that, but i'm going to ask.
if they didn't, anyone know how to do it?

i dont beat on the car daily. i'm not a drifter.
I did take it to the track earlier this year, but had no overheating issues before, during, or right after the track . in fact the overheating issues happen months after the track. So i dont think this is correlated.

I dont see any leaks under the car.
upper hose gets hot.
i dont see any collapse hoses....
engine wise this car is like super stock except that different overflow tank.
Fans come on.
No smoke. no smells.
What am I missing? I'm sure its something small.

Was suggested to me to get a fan shroud (i dont have one) but i also had the car for years without it, driven 100+ mile rode trips without it and without issues.
So why would it make a difference now?

Also note: car does cool down (within 1 to 2 mins) of having the AC or the heater put on full blast.
in fact it just happened to me this morning where i drove 5 miles to store. no problem, got back in car to drive home, 2 block later, overheating, put heat on full blast for several minutes, shut heater off, and the needle stayed right where it should be. even when i parked it home and i let it idle for several more minutes, again heater has been off for more then 15 mins now, and the car was fine. (outside temp today is in 70s, but its cloudy, no humidty).

so omg wtf?

im stuck .
thoughts?

actually this is pretty much the same as everyone elses problem. you "did"/replaced something in the coolant system and that introduced air into the system. you need to bleed your system better. you need to SAFELY elevate the nose of the car about 2' higher than the tail, and bleed it that way.
