Dam mofo insomiac I am. Been wandering around the house watching t.v., downloading music, surfing the net. Then I realize, $hit, it's 8 in the morning. I didn't even sleep. WTF? How the hell? I lost all track of time. $hit. How long can a person go without sleep before going nuts. I feel like I'm almost there.
Shit, how long have you gone?
I'm gonna make some coffee and see how long I can keep this up. :faint:

I think I've gone 47 hours naturally but those were under strange circumstances. I lost 10 pounds during that period.
I would just goto sleep if I was you.

I heard that after a certain amount of lack of sleep, you start to hear things and hallucinate.
Most I went was 38 hours.

^^^^^you do start to hear and see things. I stayed up for about 3 days a one point...I was convinced that there was a small dog that had found its way into my apartment and I keep trying to find it to kick it out. My friends thought it was pretty funny.

Longest I went was somewhere between 50 and 60 hours, but I'd had a gin hangover leading into it and was sleep for about 20 if the previous 24 hours, so I got all the sleep I would have gotten for that 3 and a half days and just couldn't sleep. To this day, now almost 5 years later, I will NOT drink gin.

I went 78 hours once working on cars with a friend in his shop. I didn't hallucinate things that weren't there, but I swear the shadows in teh shop were moving.

around 11 days with no sleep and you will die. something about your immune system breaking down cause you dont make new white blood cells. the nazis did experiments, and i guess this is how we know.

um, how does sleep affect the production of white blood cells? I am a biology major and thats something I have never heard of. :loco:

Yeah, I have gone 60 hours or so, but I also can sleep forever, I usually sleep a miniumum of 12 hrs, and then if I lose sleep for a reason I make up for it and its usually 20+ lol my friends all think I am nocturnal and crazy.

man, i know a friend who sleeps like 12-14 hours a day. He does shit nothing, and complains all the time that he's tired. Another friend sleeps 3-4 hours a day, and seems like he has so much energy, he can go days without sleep. Seems kinna strange to me.
but most i slept was 18 hours, after that 38 hours of no sleep.

Spend some time in architecture school and you'll become very familar with falling asleep several days after you woke up.
Not sure of my longest, I've certainly gone 2 days many times, and around five days with only a handful of hours inbetween busting out final projects, only to crash for 23 hours after it was due (would probably be longer if we we're required to attend sunday dinner).
Things start getting very weird after staying awake that long. You sort of drift in and out of consciencess. Not to the point of being unaware of who you are, but rather, how long did I close my eyes for, 5 seconds, five minutes? What was I doing just now? Your mind just slows down, and simple tasks can become complicated problems that take a lot longer than they need to. You'd be amazed how much funnier you and your friends are at 2am the second time around though. I very much agree with the moving shadows. Probably explains all the ghost stories that came out of our Architecture Frat house.
It is a bit different though when you sort of doing because you were having more fun not sleeping. While having to stay up can drag the hours on, I've seen the sun come up several times after playing Gran Tourismo, or after hooking up with some chick. Very different indeed.
The good news is there's no long term harm.

I went to sleep later on today because I walked into the bathroom and swore I saw the shadows moving. I was tripping out. So I grabbed my sword and wandered the house. I grabbed my digicam too hoping I could take a pic of it if it was supernatural (I'm really into that shit). Eventually got sick of trying and passed out.

i'v gone about..... 30 hours ....... it started to get really hard to consintrat(sp?), and during the day every thing seemed darker(like colors were not as bright)..... i'm also a very bitter person when i get tired. :hammer:
I usually just not sleep much at all... not really stay up the whole time. I can sleep about 3 hours a night for a good 4-5 days until I get tired and need sleep. The longest I've slept was probably 13 or so hours.

ive stayed up for 60+ hours before.. and you really do start to get dillusional.. i seriously would hear things... and then jump up out of nowhere.. after that certain point if you are in any sort of comfortable position.. you will pass out.. even if you have every intention of staying awake. it really does stack up on you tho.. the longer you stay up the longer you'll sleep.. as of the white blood cells thing. eh.. i dunno.. but the reason you sleep is because you dont get enough oxygen throughout the day.. ever wonder why yer sleepy wen you get off an airplane?

Oh and the phone the thing was ringing off the hook but no one called. Quit the drugs and went to sleep and every thing was fine. But I aint been right ever seince.
"In my younger and dumber days" me and a freind stayed up for 4 days to catch a buzz because we had no money for any other methods of wiggin out. You do start seeing sh*t after a while the 4th day we were driving down the road seeing birds fly under the car and when they would go under it we could see the white outline of them like in the old wonder woman show. It wouldn't have freaked me out except we both were seeing it. We immediatly whent home and passed out. Not a good high.

The longest I've ever been awake is 83 hours. after 49 i went into a comatose-like state, i'd go from class to class (high school) but i wouldn't respond to anyone or anything, then i'd drive home and sit there..... weird stuff. Totally natural too, no drinking, no drugs, nothing but food and water.
Longest I've slept .... hmmmm.... over 36 hours. I was totally tired out from only getting 2 hours of sleep a night for 3 months straight. And in that 36 hours of sleep, I missed 2 days of work. everyone at work thought i died cuz i never called and my parents were on vacation, so when they called my house, nobody answered.
well thats just excellent is it? bring up a 5 month old thread just to tell us that

i saw this show on tv about some radio dj who decided to stay awake as long as he could as a publicity stunt. after a few days he started hallucinating. he saw scorpions in his shoes and thought his barber was gonna kill him. he made it through 8 days, then slept for 24 hours straight. afterwards, he was a different person. uber cranky all the time and his wife left him and he lost his job.
sleep deprivation is not good

3 days, on Crystal, OC's mixed with Beer, alot of beer. I probably came pretty close to dieing. I remember it was 8am on the 2nd day still at the party house. Every one else was taking power naps, and my friend was passed out on the bed with the phone in his hand with 911 on redial. As for me I was Siting in a chair in the middle of the room feeling cold and shaking . Drinking 22's of Colt45 after snoting my 4th OC in a row. "Very bad combo" Im suprized I am still here. Here is a list of what kept me up and when I went to sleep, I was out for 24hrs.
DAY1, -- rolls(2ferarri's, 1 Anchor,) Alc , 1 OC + Alc, Crystal Meth for the rest of the night.
Day2 --- Crystal mostly, alc, Crystal , alc, traded a Davis 32 cal hand gun for a gram of shards (160$ worth) did half that day, mixed with floating the boat (Smoking Crystal meth). Then finished the day with snortin 4 OC's and waited till 7am to get more Alc from the store. That is the time I was sitting there feeling frozen on a summer day.
Day 3 w---as not as ass kicking just staying up by the last of the Crystal and shards and about 24 bruskies. That was two years ago and since then I got rehab and stop with the drugs, But only drink now, drink too much, but thats still better then not being able to complete sentences. Drugs are bad Mmmkay.
The total cost for those 3 days was 300$ and a gun worth 160$. Im glad I have a car now to better invest money.
