About the car:
1990 240sx hatch
155k miles
ka24e

well yerday at about 3 i tried to start my car while i was on my work break, with no luck. the engine would crank, but rpms wouldnt go above 200, so it never started. i tried pushing it up a hill, then letting it roll and poppin the clutch, with no reult what so ever. While this was going on, you could smell fuel, and i figure i just filled it up all the way last night, so it might be flooded. So i let it sit. well i get out of work at about 10 at night, and try to start it again. this time all my lights inside the car are dim, my radio lost all the programmed stations, and when i try to turn it on, it cranks reaaaaaaly slow for about 2 seconds, then dies and a clicking noise is heard, no smell of fuel this time around.... so i figure my batery died. well ima replace the batery as soon as i get off of work, but what all do you guys think might be wrong with the car????

any help is apriciated, thanks

well, by trying to start your car you probably killed the battery. If not, you could possibly have a dead alternator, so it either doesn't have enough juice to crank the motor, and it can't recharge. Even if you did get it started, it would die very shortly if this is the case. You could possibly have a burnt out starter, can you hear if the solenoid is engaging? Other than that, the ditsy or timing belt/chain, I dont have a 240 so I dont know what the KA uses. Let me know if any of this helps at all, or if you've come up with anything new
