Bad Review for Bay Area welding shop!

I went to Lipsey's Muffler on Sonoma St in Vallejo, CA awhile back to get my muffler welded in. It would always rattle when I would take off from a start. Not an aggressive start, just calm daily driving. And just the other day the weld literally came apart. I'm going to try to get my money back, any advice?

They're not going to give you your money back. You should have got it welded, test it, and then pay.

I feel like they wouldn't. Do you think they could provide any kind of compensation? I don't need any new welds. I didn't even know i could test it lol. Now I know I can though.

Yeah you should have like left them your id or phone whatever and go for a test drive. How long after the weld did you drive the car?

Right after but I just ignored it because I thought it was just a sound and it was like $50.

It's been a while since it was welded.. maybe a month and a half?

reguardless, it's a shitty weld, either way too much heat or no penetration. it shouldn't break. i would go talk to them and try and get a refund. i see a lot of muffler shops do shitty work it seems, because to a normal person, they don't know the difference.

Ask them about it, a month and a half later you might be out of luck but the worst they can say is no.

a weld should last years. take it back, show them the weld came apart and you might get your money back but most likely just fixed

I was planning on going tomorrow, and showing them the muffler to cat part that literally fell off. And since I don't have a receipt, I was going to show a bank statement or something.
