About the BOV, yeah, i've heard....if it sucks on my setup ill weld a greddy flange on there and throw a type R on there. The turbo was from atpturbo.com and was $1311...supposed to be a badass turbo - spools like a gt28rs but can put out 25% more power...I'll definately let everyone know about that.

wow, I'm jocking the black fmic and piping. How did you change the color? Did you powdercoat it? I want to make mine black as well without sacrificing performance.

Used gloss black on the endtanks after polishing them and changing my my mind on the bling factor...the core is painted with flat black radiator paint dusted on...didn't paint the back...couldn't do that much to performance at all...

Very nice. How did you plug the hole on your cold pipe that goes to the stock recirculation valve? I love the blue valve cover. Is that powder coated or spray paint?

The Valve cover is powdercoated...as far as the hole for recirculation goes...still haven't plugged it up...school and work are rough this semester so my time is extremely limited...plus, when i do have time, I'd rather chillax :rawk:

I though the GT2871r was Garrets version of the HKS GT25R?

Sounds liek an awesome turbo at about half the price of the GT25R..

Sweet install. VERY CLEAN. I really like. Now all you need is a new football!

Very nice and clean swap. Is the turbo you have the one they call the "Disco Potato"? I know the DS was a Garret GT28 something but i cant exactly remeber.

No, this is not the disco potato, it has a higher output than that turbo and only a slight decrease in spooling time...I've never heard of anyone using this turbo on an application, but I have been assured it will pull really hard...can't wait!

Hahaha, yea...I actually took out a "cost of living" loan to build up the motor...I figured if you don't have an SR pushing 350 whp, you just aren't living, so it all made sense

yet, if someone hands you your ass with a much LESS powerful car than yours.. you arent going to want to be living, are you? ;)

hey pudula how did you manage to use the tomei ras in ur s14 sr? never seen a s14/s15 verson. only s13. i havent had a chance to really look at one and see how they fit in. i heard trimming them will work, but the manufacturers say do NOT use with VTC motors, must have a reason. would like to know so i dont buy one and its useless or messes stuff up later.

just wonderin...why did you get an S14 blacktop just to replace the turbo and practically rebuild it? why not just get a redtop and save a few hundred?

There was no trimming or anything...it was for the s14 engine...but don't say shit, it worries me!

I wanted a motor with relatively low miles, I wanted the motor that was designed for my chassis, and I didn't want to have a motor from '92 in my '98. Definately will be worth the couple hundred bucks, after all, that is nothing in the sceme of things. Oh yeah, and I heard the power band on the vtc motors is tight...

you took out a loan for that thing? holy crickey man. It does look nice though. I like the black IC. What did you use to paint it? just radiator paint? or did you have it coated?

Have it dynoed and tuned. All those shiny things won't be worth squat if it ain't tuned. I also noticed that you don't have any engine management yet, or injectors? next on the list?

My friend has a very similar setup to yours, and missing injectors he was only able to push 240 at the wheels.

Looks nice though.
