S14 idles low or shuts off..

I don't know wassup with my 240sx...one day the car just started to idle really low and the check engine light came on. Now whenever I drive it...whenever I come to a complete stop or light go of the gas too much...the car just automatically shuts off. I'm going to try to change the spark plugs on them to see if it does any help. Well anyways...I just wanted to hear any other suggestions or thoughts on what is wrong or what I can do to stop this from happening again.

check the ecu and see what error codes come out...at least that will give ya some direction

I had the same thing happen to my car......apparently if was a leak in my intake manifold. But there can be more issues than just that....but all the cases are the same as mine.

note: I had the sympton of running EXTREMELY rich also (stinky exhaust)

Thanks for the info...if all else fails...Imma have to take it back to the shop and let them fix this issue. Im gettin tired of restarting the car at red lights..that sux....

Well..I took the car to let the shop check it out...the codes that it threw out were:

P0505
P1441
P0443
P0135
P0141
P0446
P1400
P1105

I tried to look up some of the codes and found two of them (P0443, P0446) to be related to the EVAP system pressure sensors. Oh...and another thing...my wife just told me the other day that she had put in this crappy azz gasoline (BP) around town that was rumored to have watered-down type of gasoline. Now I really think that the gasoline that she had used really messed up everything in the EVAP system and messed up the sensors and ECU's communications. Many other people have complained about this place and I told her to stay away from it....and look what happens now. Well....anyone got any more suggestions???

heh didn't know s14 would have this problem..but many s13 do heh..all i did was adjusted the throttle line. and i idle fine now.

HEY! Thats what I just had fixed on my S13...

-new air filter(cheap-o eBay open air element was too shitty for me...)

-new fuel filter (300zx)

-Seamfoam

-new connector harness thing to the MAF
