quick question.
just picked up a z32 diff for the s14. it came from a NA z32
i have the axles and everything. will the z32 axles work or do i need j30's?
tried searching and couldnt find much...

Pretty sure you need j30s might have to do some modifications.

found this but dont know if its right
i've dealt with differentials alot so here's the deal. you gotta know that ABS-NonABS driveshafts are different in lenght, ABS one being shorter than Non-Abs, and J30 being a perfect fit to the ABS driveshaft due to the fact that the ABS sensor being located in the driveshaft input just like S14s are. the Z32 differential is shorter since it has the ABS sensors on the output shafts, making it a perfect fit for the longer Non-ABS shaft.
the fact that the z32 has the ABS sensors in the output shafts does not make a difference in fitment when using the S13/S14 VLSD output shafts.
Non-ABS S14 : Z32 vlsd, same exact gear ratio as S14 differentials. same exact size, you only gotta swap the output shafts to 6 bolt or swap the axels with the Z32 ones, whatever works best for you.
ABS S14 : J30 vlsd, the S14 abs driveshaft is a bit shorter than the non-abs due to the fact that the differential has an ABS sensor in it, so does the J30, making it a perfect fit. if you choose the right year J30 it will be a perfect fit. however, the J30 has a final gear ratio 4% taller than the S14 and Z32, this means your car will be driving 4% faster than it shows on your speedometer, it is not a big deal.
Q45 differential is a bit more complicated... i didn't even bother with that one
my friend's mother is junking a J30 due to an accident, maybe i'll buy it off her and post it up here for sale. let me know if you are interested,

J30s fit fine. How do I know this? I'm using J30 axles with a Z32 NA R200V. No modifications needed. Plug and play.

no need of abs drive shaft right?!

Don't need an ABS driveshaft. Find a J30 with the same style (6-bolt) halfshafts and replace the Z32's with them and you're all set. Just make sure to put the same lengths in their respective side, one is longer than the other.
