Didn't Pass Smog!!! Need Help!!!

Hey all. I need some help. I got ticketed (in Cali) by CHP and had to get my car smogged at a state referee site. I smogged it this morning and it DIDN"T PASS. The only part it didn't pass was the IDLE part. Here are the specs:

At Idle (702 RPM):
%CO2: 9.0
%O2: 7.4
HC (PPM): AVE: 17, MEAS: 101 (this is where i failed-max is 100)
CO (%): AVE: 0.00, MEAS: 0.10 (max is 1.00)

At 2500 RPM (2496 average):
%CO2: 14.5
%O2: 0.1
HC (PPM): AVE: 12, MEAS: 18 (max is 130)
CO (%): AVE: 0.10, MEAS: 0.03 (max is 1.00)

Does anyone have any idea why I didn't pass?? I was told that at idle, there was too much oxygen. Any suggestions? Thanks for all the help.

Why did you post 2 of the exact same threads? What shape is your O2 sensor in?

I haven't checked the O2 sensor yet. How do you know if it's bad??

what did you get ticketed for? if your air filter is dirty change it cause it blocks airflow which makes your car run rich kinda. try the 02 sensor and worst case change your cat and drive your car really hard before you get to the ref next time

pour some mothballs in your gas tank. Works like a charm. My friend has passed all his cars that way.

hah...mothballs will work? lol i needa remember this tip heh..cuz..i dun need to smog yet but..mah idle is around 900 to 1400 hope i will pass heh dun have to do it till another year anyway...
