I have a 14 with abs, what modification do I need to make to a 1 piece s13 drive shaft non abs to make it fit?

Why not buy the correct one?
^^^ If it was only that easy half the threads on this board wouldn't exist.

Cut your car in half and remove 3-4 inches of chassis

Florida, why am I not surprised.
OP - mock it up in the car
figure out how much it needs to be lenghtened/shortened by
and take it to a driveshaft shop in your area

Sell your current DS and buy the proper DS.

one thing you should do if you want a ds to work is:
sell one piece s13 ds
and buy an 14 abs driveshaft.
holy fuck then your done?!

Listen, you're 23 years old. I tracked my 240sx longer than you own your 240sx, so please take my advise to heart. It's not that we can't think outside the box, but more of we've been there, done that, and tried with failure.
There's no way to make it fit without some heavy duty fabrication (cut and reweld) that may jeopardize not only structural integrity, but also the balance when spun by transmission. S13 non-abs driveshaft is a good inch or two longer because it does not have the ABS sensor that shortens the distance.
So unless you have both these tools available, the cost of a shop to cut and fit your drive shaft costs as much as a new drive shaft.
BTW, California has a lot of idiots as well, but they tend to call the shops first rather than posting online.

majority are oppinions, nothing to do with the question i even asked.
it seems that everyone is ok with cutting the stock drive shaft to make a j30 diff fit, and locally it can be done and balance for about $40.
so why are you all against the same process for a one peice? even if i gotta make it longer. this one was $150, and its much cheaper that finding the correct one, then shipping this one to sell it.
i went ahead and passed on the idea anyways, but wtf, i didnt ask how to sell it or buy the right one. Just simply the modification required for fitment.
oh and fuck you ive tracked my 240 longer than you owned one... you dont know me. and when does that make wiser than me? I may have not owned my 24o for very long but i stll have and track my z32 that ive owned since highschool. again, it doesnt fucking matter because ive rebuilt more engies that you have. nanaabobo, stick your head in do do, douche

Sorry if I come off as a Douche.
You're better off asking more detailed questions rather than saying what's being installed in. For example: what are the differences in length? Do I need the different connecting pieces at the U-Joints? etc.
After that, then you make the judgement for yourself. If you could visit one of those old school car shops that can do driveshafts, that's probably ideal as they most likely do a lot of fabrication for those discontinued cars.

socal, why am i not surprised that you waste your life away on here with thousands of posts......
by assuming something about a person by where they live you make yourself look like an ass. i dont know you, and i dont care to know you, but if i were to blatantly throw out an assumption on your behalf it would be that youre a preppy, stuck up asshole. but im not gonna throw out any accusations like that, im just sticking up for a fellow 240 owner/lover and floridian.
p.s. this is not aimed at anyone, just a general statement to the public
have a nice day everyone lol

$150 + fabrication isn't much cheaper than buying a new one-piece steel driveshaft... do you not have a job?

Why not buy the correct one?
Why not modify one for cheaper?
Cut your car in half and remove 3-4 inches of chassis
Be sure to recommend that people convert their cars to RHD to get an SR wiring harness to fit in a USDM chassis. Maybe instead of buying a testpipe people could cut 10 inches out of the chassis. Just think of the weight reduction.
OP - mock it up in the car
figure out how much it needs to be lenghtened/shortened by
and take it to a driveshaft shop in your area
This is a good suggestion.

You are 27 so you are a professional fabricator that knows so much about driveshafts. I have tracked my 240 longer than 99% of zilvia and I am 24. I guarantee there are people younger than both of us that have much more knowledge.
Shortening and lengthening driveshafts is not heavy duty fabrication, driveshaft shops do it all the time. Muscle car, and 4x4 people do it all the time and it isn't a big deal.
Unless you have a received a quote from a driveshaft shop in Jacksonville Florida I dont think you would be able to determine if the modifed driveshaft was around the same price as a new one. Even if the modified one is only 50 dollars cheaper than a new one that is still a savings of 50 dollars. Not everybody maxes out there credit cards to build their 240's. I am not saying you or any other poster in this thread have done that but I think if you can save a buck why not save it for something else.
idk why you would rather go through the headache instead of just buying the right part
Maybe to save some money because he already has the one piece driveshaft in his hands and doesnt have to go through the headache of selling his driveshaft then buying another driveshaft. Shipping his old one, risk it getting damaged, risk a flaky buyer, risk losing money in the deal, risk waiting a long time to get the new driveshaft, etc.
I own a 240 and sometimes I dont understand why people go through the headache of modifying shitty old nissans instead of spending the money on a car that performs better that requires less modifications.
You're better off asking more detailed questions rather than saying what's being installed in. For example: what are the differences in length? Do I need the different connecting pieces at the U-Joints? etc.

This is a good suggestion. Zilvia needs specific questions because there are a lot of retards on this site and people come off as retards if they are not specific.

You make good points there.
$150 + fabrication isn't much cheaper than buying a new one-piece steel driveshaft...
Do you understand that if something costs less money it is better than something that costs more money? If you spend less money on a product that is the same that means you save money.
Do you not have a job?
The original poster works for one of the biggest telecom companies in the country. Having a job has nothing to do with wasting money. Do you have a budget? Do you make decisions on how you spend your money? Do eat out at expensive restaurants for every meal? Eating filet mignon only costs 25 more dollars than McDonalds, why in the world wouldnt we all be eating filet mignon every meal.

Whoa...is this "defend my buddy's dignity in an internet forum" night?
Ichi-go, ever heard of sarcasm?
The thing is, if the OP already know he's gonna have to modify the shaft to make it fit, why couldnt he just try to put the shaft in? Then take the measurements to see how much he'd have to add/shorten the driveshaft? When people ask stupid questions, you usually get stupid answers (well, smart-ass/sarcastic answers too).

good news for the people who actually try to innovate... not zivilian flamers
I currently got the correct abs one piece s14 drive shaft... but i changed the diff for a welded... now its 3/4" too short.
my original question was to see if there were any cheaper ways other than paying a shop $150... turns out there is.
Just completed R&D and now ill be testing this bad boy

did you know theres another diff that has a longer snout companion flange that bolts right in?
instead of running your mouths repetitively lets try to get creative. i know most of you are sponsored by mommy and daddy, but some of us have a budget
