Okay... so been searching to see if I could find a similar issue, no luck really..

My ebrake light on the dash keeps coming on. I know this is usually a sign of a bad alternator or battery, but both are good. And the res in the engine bay has enough fluid as well. Car is staring and idling just fine..

When the light on the dash is on, the car shifts from N to 1st, and from 1st-2nd VERY hard. (Its an auto)
If I give it any gas at all, it will chirp the tires.
Occasionally, the light will dim/get brighter. But it's opposite from what I was reading on everyone else's... mine gets brighter the more I accelerate. If I let off the gas, it dims.
And lastly, if I hit the O/D button to put the car in overdrive... it takes like 10 seconds for the tranny to change gears and rev-up the motor.

Any help would be appreciated, as I am currently stumped.. :(

does the car stay in gear a really long time? like it won't shift? and then it shifts really hard and drives normally? if it does disconnect the revsensor(i think it's called) and see if that fixes your trans problem... it helped mine when i had the shifting problem

about the dimming lights. that's similar to what happened to me when, for some reason, the alternator belt didn't have enough tension... i tightened it up and the problem went away...

No.. the shift points are still the same. It's just shifting very hard.
Revsensor? where the hell is that even at?
Ill have to check my belt tomorrow and see if it's tight or not.

it's one of the plugs near the enginebay fuse box, i don't remember which one since and im not near my car right now and can't check. I'll update as soon as i get the chance if you haven't solved this yet. But since the trans is not "sticking" in gear then i don't think this will help your problem, but who knows...

When was the last servicing of your transmission fluid?
