So I shimmed a 300zx differential I had and everything went well except I can't get the output shaft all the way back in it only needs about a inch more to go but it won't budge, I tried to post a picture but I couldn't from my phone if you would like a picture email me @ [email protected]

The splines get misaligned sometimes. Assemble the carrier with the output shafts installed, then after its all together, Pitt the shafts out, install carrier in pumpkin.

That's what I did anyway.

so should i just keep hammering away at it? the splines are aligned fine it goes about 85% of the way in than just stops

DO NOT HAMMER FORCEFULLY. the splines are not aligned. I can guarantee you 100%. Disassemble and start over WITH the output shafts aligned.

So take out the diff again put the output shafts in it while its out the pumpkin then put it all back together?

put a shitload of LUCAS lube, that's what i use to install axles, and it makes it easier
