I searched!!!! Everything was overheating. :boink:
I have a s13 with a red top. Stock (usdm) radiator, permacool fan with electric thermostat.
All winter I thought I didn’t have a thermostat. I finally took it all apart and there was a thermo in there. I didn’t think anything of, it must have been stuck open!?!?! So I put the new one in and everything back together. It was about 60 degrees today and I couldn’t get it to heat up past the second tick on the jdm cluster. Later it got colder (35) and it took for ever to warm up, just like it did when I thought didn’t have a thermostat.
Any ideas???????

my friend's blacktop s13 SR does the same thing...

it'll heat up to normal but as you drive it around, it gets cooler and cooler. he's not bothering to do anything about it though ha

stock thermostats typically open at 180 degrees, so somewhere between there and 200-210 max

180 is normal operating temp. i have my fans set to come on at 195. the factory a/c fan is set to come on at 210. with SRs, once you venture past about 210-215, they start to heat up really fast and generally boil over. :)
