hi all. i bought and recieved a set of tanabe front and rear sway bars for s13. the weird thing is that the front set came w/ the rubber sway bar holders and brackets around them while the rear bars came w/ just the rubber but no brackets. the package was sealed when i got them. did i get a defect or what? anyone else ordered these barS?

im guesing you use stock endlinks also since the tanabe's didn't come with any. are these bars hollow? they kinda seem like it.

also, upon inspection the front bar is definitely worth it. its way beefier than stock, but the rear bar is only 22.5mm iirc. looking at it, it doesn't look that stiff. i guess the jdm hicas bar is a better alternative since its 25mm+ (25.5?) i also thought these bars were going to be powdercoated red, but they were gray..

yea i bought the rear on ebay and when i received it i didnt even have brackets or bushings... i remeber talkin the guy about it and he told me that they are suppose to come with them so i am just waiting for them to reply back about it....did your box that the sway bars came in say they were 20mm???? mine did for some reason....and mine came gray too..

oh yea another thing about the hicas bars is that i think they are solid and the tanabes and hollow...

when i bought mine, they both came in one package and the rear also only came with bushings and no bracket. As long as the bracket is in good condition just use it.and yes omg the diffrence for the back is to crazy. driving impression was a very noticable diffrence for sure. have fun. here is some pics of mine when i got em.

edit: also, these bars are hollow. they are made from chromeoly steel.i also thought they would be red or purple or something, but who cares anyway cuz no one will see and them.

I think the hicas bar is 17mm?

hollow bars and better than solid swaybars not only for weight savings, but also for stiffness. Similiar to a cage. Tanabes are what I'll be getting as well for front and rear.

yea the size of the bar doesnt nessicarily mean its stiffer or not when your dealing with hollow bars. The inner wall was increases in thickness and the overall stifness is better with a hollow bar. Mine came as described, w/o rear brackets and in grey. I was kinda concerned, but they came in a tanabe box and look exactally like every pic I see on here. They are awsome and you wont be dissipointed!

I have both the front and rear.
The rears came with the bushings, but no brackets (the bushings provided will fit into the OEM brackets).
The fronts came with the bushings and brackets.

I believe they are hollow as even tanabe's exhuast hangers are hollow, but i'm not positive.

they don't come with rear brackets because you use your stock ones. Duh!
