well just knowing what to remove and stuff, thats about it, and putting the obx shifter in, the lil plastic fitting at the bottom is too big, so u either sand it down a bit, ot use the stock one. My Stock one broke, so i spend an hour and a half sanding it down to fit..

Hey Grant, how's your OBX SS??? I was just going to order mine cuz i dont think its worth it to spend $200+ for a B&M one. But Ive been reading prior threads on the OBX SS, and many ppl say "it falls apart". Did you have any problems yet? Does anyone have any experience w/ OBX or recommend some other brand???

im not sure what happened where you had to sand it down but mine fit percectly... it was only a little stiff at first but after you use it a little bit then it loosens up just enough... i was and am still happy with mine even though it is obx but hey whatever works

I have a Pilot short shifter on my S14.... supposedly, its the same thing as the OBX shifter. Anyways, I bought it for 85 bucks from the PDM Racing website. It seems to be really good - much quicker shifting.

And about that "falling apart" comment - mine is perfectly fine, and I've had it for almost a year already.

I am just wondering, whats the big deal with the name brand? (im not talking directly to u tricky, I know u just joined us, so dont take me wrong)
It's like, U know when your in school, and u gotta buy the jordans, and them shits cost 150 when u can just buy reebok and it will still be the same shit, just that u r trying to impress somebody. Is that the reason, to impress people?  I mean, there is nothing wrong with OBX, it does what its supposed to do, so whats the problem?
Anyway, I have one question-does the OBX make that lil clicking noise when u put it into gear like in "fast and furious?"

at first, yes but not nearly as loud. As it breaks in it goes away and the click is more of a feel than a sound. My only complant about the obx/pilot shifter is that its not short enough. I should have got the B&M. IMO the oxb shifter shortens your shift length to where it should have started at in the first place, the B&M should actually give you much shorter shifts.

doesn't the B&M ones replace more parts w/ better ones or something as well. and have better quality?

Yeah, the B&M comes with the whole plate assembly and everything.
