Not sure about street or touge, but you'll want to check out Meihan Sportsland in Nara Prefecture (next to Osaka, to the east.) They have insane drifting there, especially on the weekends. Depending on when your here, round 5 of the 2012 D1 West Division sponsored by the body kit manufacture Origin is going on at Meihan on October 14th! Still a bit away. If you're up for a bullet train ride to Okayama Prefecture (two prefectures over to the west of Osaka, the same D1 West division round 4 is going on here THIS Sunday, July 1st @ Bihoku Circuit! Its pretty much a driver's search to see what local people are good enough to go to D1 Grand Prix! 備北ハイランドサーキット - Google Maps (http://goo.gl/maps/fYRM). I've never been there, so I can't tell you much about this place!

When are you going to be in Japan? I can look up the schedule for you if you or if your friend don't speak Japanese.

Also, don't forget to eat Kansai style okonomiyaki. Visit a store called Don Quijote (pronounced Don Key-ho-teh,) buy an offensive T-Shirt that you can't read and wear it around (I have one that says Yakuza Boss on it, just pretend I can't read it, lol! Super taboo, but makes young people laugh when I wear it ONLY in Osaka...I won't wear it anywhere else cause I only get evil stares.)

Lemme know if your going to be on Shikoku (island to the west of Kansai and south of Chugoku.) I'll take you out to see some touge, as long as your not a serial killer!
