Tranny Problem??

hey its hard as shit to shift into first gear. i had to shove it into 1st, it made a loud "DUMP" noise(sounded like it came from the back), 3rd was ok, 4th fucking grinded, and 5th was normal. so do you think its the syncro...or just the whole damn tranny. i think if the syncro IS messed up i need a new tranny? i just dont know what to think!

wow u got all sorts of problems...

well um. 1st things 1st... try checking/changing the tranny oil. the buckle from the back could be a worn/noisy differential... obviously if the synchro is messed up theres no way to fix it without taking it apart. the right oil *may* postpone that particular fix though. or it may be so screwed its done for. if thats the case... get a used ka for 100 bucks or so. u can probably find one for sale here on zilvia.

i got a tranny from my 97 240..ill sell it for a 125 plus shipping..you can have the clutch and flywheel with it..

relax! brakes, tranny, motor... i mean there isn't much else that can go wrong that you haven't fixed yet and wouldn't be able to fix yourself. with some help you could probably put that tranny in yourself. plus 240sx parts are cheap. if your engnie exploded tomorrow you could source out another KA for a few hundred.

at this rate, your car is going to be in better shape then mine soon. think positive! :boink:

its so haaaaaaaaaaaaard doing all of this, with working and all...i dont know that much about installing car parts yet, thats why im going to take some classes on it! then i wont have to pay other people to do it for me. my bf is going to work on bikes and ill work on cars! haha. i should have income taxes coming soon as well as my paycheck, and ill probably start working at hooters again for some more cash(its the next best thing to stripping!!! haha)as for the brakes and crap...im fixing those friday, i have other brakes im taking the rotors off of, so ill update of course, hopefully, i will have everything in working order and the way i want it!
