Hey, I just took my bumper cover off last night on my 91, Now I dont have an intercooler yet but Im wondering on how to cut the bumper, I searched for about a half hour and couldnt find anything at all, I know ill have to line the I/C up when I get it to know how much to cut, but my question is about what to cut, I have seen some pics where it looks like you just cut it all out, not the whole thing but the whole length that you need to cut, am I right or do you kind of notch it out. I dont know if this helps but does it look like this where the I is the intercooler and B is bumper. If your looking at it from the top view. BBBIIIIIIIIIIIBBB or does it look like this where the underline part is part of the bumper, BBBIIIIIIIIIIIIBBB, Flame me all you want but im just curious. Or if you could refer me to a post that you found, I just couldnt even find one. Thanks.

i just fitted mine this past weekend, just trial and error, i cut the bumper to the endtanks to have as much air as possible and some protection, a sawzall is a must in the metal cutting, get a dremel to clean off the cuts though;and mine looks like the first part you posted, BBBIIIIIIIIIIBBB
you can start by cutting the edge of the middle opening. usually that part that sticks out is the part that hits the end tank or piping.
i've had a greddy and hybrid intercooler and had to cut that part on both cars.
use a die grinder or angle grinder. i used a rough sanding disc. i also used a small air hand saw.

I guess I need to invest in some tools, Ive got a hacksaw as of now. but if I cut out the entire part of the bumper like you said, and just leave the two ends in tact, couldnt I just hack through it, Ive got dremel to clean it up and do some minor cutting, just have to go to the hardware store for bits and such.
