Run and drove great until the lack of oil .. .... pissing oil between oil pan and motor

Minor rust on lower rocker
no RUST underneath!

ALL PARTS ARE BRAND NEW.... bought everything for the car over this past winter

all dash lights are good and working
everything on car works
car passed NY inspection

So is this not running because it's damaged internally from running dry or just because it can't hold oil? Thanks. The motor failed because the oil pan gasket was shot and on a long cruise I was on the car got really hot and oil started pissing out of the seam between the pan and block .....
