Ok, my starter went out all of a sudden and i got it changed by my dealership. They used a new one that came out of a box and the box was labeled nsp. or something like that. Anyone familiar with that brand?
The car starts fine, but when i turn the key, the starter sounds way different then the stock one, it's much louder and kinda like a screeching noise. Wondering if thats normal and if aftermarket starters do sound different.

I don't know about Nissan aftermarket ones...but uhh,I know that on my old SBC and SBF(Ford 302) both had aftermarket starters, and neither of them did that.

Does it take longer to start then the stocker did?

My '93 had a remanufactured starter in it that made a really weird whirring type noise for a second or two after starting. Worked fine, just made an odd noise. turns out that apparently the OEM Nissan starter is made to very fine specs and many remanufactured or even quality aftermarket starters can get out of spec easily over time. In my case it caused my starter to remain engaged with the flywheel a bit too long and cause the odd whirring noise. I replaced it with an OEM Nissan starter and it's fine now.
