I have searched and haven't found specifically what I'm looking for. I am going to buy a JW cam for my ka24e. I barely found out that it could improve up to 15hp in low rpm's since more fuel is getting to the engine, however, what else do I need to do for it to get that gain? I have a feeling I am going to re-build my whole top end. Am I totally off or am I spot on???
Thanks
P.S. I do not want to go SR yet, might go vq later down the road...and dual cam isn't in the question.

To get full benefit out of aftermarket cams always add complete cat back exhaust, aftermarket header and cold air or short ram intake, engine requires more air and less backpressure to increase power with cams, also depending on what stage cams u getting u might have to get aftermarket springs and retainers

i just dont know why your gonna spend $400 on JW cam when you can do ALMOST a full head rebuild from o&j performance, thats cam valves and both sets of springs. 400 will get you cams and valves from o&j.

it just depends on what your plans are for the car, im doing a ka24et and rebuilding every thing for around 600. if i was in your shoes (dont plan on doing much with the motor) i would personally clean up the stock valves get them reseated and deck the head with a new HG. thats just what i would do if i was going to go as far as changing springs but thats just me. most companys only sell the outter springs so id stop by nissan and get new inner springs as well there like $10/spring (in IE anyway)
