20g turbo is probably the cheaper of all the turbo's they are proven on multiple platforms but i have never seen one on an sr20.
i've heard of alot of people running the gt28 series turbos will great success.
it really depends on what your looking for out of the car. I would almost go with the gt30 with the work you say you have done. but going with the slightly smaller gt28 wont hurt. you will get faster spool time with the gt28.
best thing to do is figure out what you want the car to be used for then choose the turbo that best fits.

You can also pick up a precision turbo I think it's the best bang for your buck right now .

Why do you want journal bearings? Just curious.

precision turbos are great. i dont know why they are such underrated turbos. From what i have seen most of them make more power than what they are estimated.

i know a couple people that run the 20g not a bad set up but not a fan of that turbo at all.
With that set up i would think about the new gtx30 faster spool and a great performing turbo. Going to pay more but well worth it because the life spain is alot greater then the godspeed crap.

you dont have to go godspeed to get a 20g turbo. if i remember correctly you can get one from forced performance. I am a huge fan of the precision turbo's. The GTX line of the garretts are beastly but they cost way too much. Especially when you can get the same performance out of a correctly sized precision.

Yeah, but only their ball bearing turbos.. Their journal bearing turbos are known to be fairly unreliable..

i've yet to see one of their journal bearing turbo's be un-reliable. I would love to see proof of their journal bearings failing when operating within the specs. All turbo's will fail when being operated above their designed range.

I've built really good set ups running precision journal bearings .. I've yet to see one fail really bad usually one of the o rings go bad. But other than that I would recommend them

TD06-20G should be good enough to get you into 400hp, but the power delivery will basically be an on/off switch. The beauty of a GT2871R is that itll make the same power but the power delivery will be alot more linear and smooth.
