I got a 97 240sx and it's been a pita to find a nismo usdm lip for it. So much that I'm pondering the idea of making one myself. Anyknow know where to find a good type of material that isn't brittle but flexible at the same time let me know. Basically something that comes in a sheet.

You could go down to your local Nissan dealership and buy it. They're pretty expensive, I believe they're around $170-$200 MSRP. But as far as making a front goes, some people use garden wall. If you don't know what that is, go down to your local Home Depot or Lowes and ask.

97 usdm lip is sold at nissan. It's pretty big. To purchase a new one it retails around 330 bucks. I was thinking about using whatever material to make the general shap and fiberglass whatever else I needed.

Yes, I agree it doesn't look bad at all, but I wonder if it would look cooler painted, I understand its F-ing garden trim so its not like you are gonna take it to a body shop and pay for it to get painted, but I dunno it could look cool if you tried matching it with some spray paint maybe.

lol are u kiddng haha. anyway, i was checking out my chuuki bumper and i only found holes that were parallel to the ground. that would mean folding the gardening trim at a 90* angle and then bolting it in unless i drill new holes in my bumper.

Yeha, fold and screw or better yet use 90 degree angled brackets or both.

haha...that ish didnt turn out bad. I was thinking of that same ish back in the days after i saw a zenki with it. The only thing that stopped me is figuring out how to bed the lip cuz of how the center piece of the kouki bumper is not straight across. As for the painting it part...I WOULDNT..shit would flex and there goes the paint.

Thread from the dead!
Seriously, there's another thread on this exact topic also on the first page ^_^

Next time you have an idea, google it first, you'd be surprised how many people have already thought of it.

So Home Depot lips are still in style. Good to hear!

Why do people get mad when someone actually follows directions and search for an existing thread to add to??? Y'all get mad at them when they "start a new thread instead of searching"... so you can't get mad when they actually follow through :2c:

Because the point is to search, find your answer and move on... kind of like a library. I'm pretty sure you'd find it moronic if you were researching a paper and at the bottom of a paragraph with the info you needed someone scribbled in "me too lulz."

But he didnt just do that. He updated the thread with the pic of his work regarding the subject, how much it costed him, and the type of material he used (which is a different type that was discussed in this thread).

I didn't say that's what he did. The question was written in generals about people always getting butthurt over a thread getting bumped and I was simply stating why.
