Ripped Off [part2]

holy shit, i went to get my car friday...i needed a battery, so i went to wal-mart. it was hard as shit to get into first gear from the start, anyway, i was like fuck it, ill drive it to wal-mart and back. ok i find out that my clutch needs adjusting(thats why it wouldnt go into gear easy)--i think its my syncronizer thing, but who knows. ok the guy fixes my battery, backs out and i hear a "clinck!" i was like holy shit...stay positive...ignore the noise. ok the guy slides past me...trying to stop. my fucking brakes like fell off!!!!!!!!!! so i call the guy and told me i had to fuckign down shift all the way home and then slide past stop signs. ok i call the guy and told him to buy me some new fucking brakes or i will most definatley sue his lying ass now, because i could have been hurt or killed...i mean no brakes!!!!!!!!!! what the hell! :madfawk:

Definetly go back and raise hell about your brakes falling off. Thats just shady!

That is not cool at all, I mean like you said NO BRAKES thats way beyond shady....that just is not the way to sell a car, and hopefully he will pay some sort of restitution but if not I would take him to small claims court or something to that effect, especially because he never mentioned that the brakes weren't working.

yeah,im glad im ok...people pulled out in front of me, and all i could do is downshift! the shithead still hasnt called me back, but i DO know where he lives!!! i mean im trying my best to be real nice about this situation, but my niceness has run out! i bet when he DOES talk to me, he will say "well, when i drove the car the brakes worked great!" duh. hes been beating around the bush saying the same thing everytime. and he says that hes out of 1500 or so because of me. anyway, im off to call, then to post!

um... damn. glad you got home ok. i would've had that shit towed. seems to me that he either got ripped off and unloaded it on you, or he tried modding it and managed to fukk it up totally instead. all the hard work just makes u love ur car more in the end, right? :P

well, i hope i will love it at the end?? yea i think he tried to mod it, bc i have a short shifter(successful) and 300zx brakes(unsuccessful) and he gave me a turbo timer and some other shit...prolly cause he felt bad. oh well, i hope to god there is nothing else wrong.

damn......so it was 300zx brakes on there that didn't stop you? Hey at least you will have kick-ass brakes once they are fixed....lol....

hahaha. brakes are supposed to slow you down hehe. im scared to go fast in that hunk of junk i got haha. i mean the motor actually seems really good now, just the tranny and brakes are fucked up. the guy fixing my car said i need new rotors and they are 15-20$ a piece...sounds kinda cheap tho. who knows! i have 240 brakes on the front now and 300 on the back, but they are both messed up some how. i noticed how the back ones were REALLY rusty. i just dont know exactly what to think of them yet, they have made the factory se wheels really dirty too.

rusty rotors is actually pretty standard stuff on old cars. not a particularly big deal... and certainly not going to compromise your BASIC braking ability. i drove my 240 home after i bought it with really rusty rotors too. they cleared up but i replaced em anyway. 15-20 is a little on the cheap side for rotors but its not a big deal either. autozone sells 20 dollar blanks and u can get brembo (wow... brembo :P) blanks for 25 or so a rotor if u find a good deal. but if u were putting the pedal down and nothing was happening i would assume its a bit more then just rotors. was there any pressure on the pedal? u should take a look at ur brake cylinders and see if theres any liquid in there. also get down and see if maybe he didnt put a line on right and it just popped off under too much pressure. well, good luck!

yeah, the calipur squeezes the disk(rotor?), but my mechanic said i needed new rotors and pads of course. i tried my best when i drove it last not to touch the brakes, so i just downshifted, but i DID have to brake at a stop sign due to a cop, so i did, i stopped...just not the best noise.
