I've asked a few questions this week.. seems like every question i have i can't find it by searching.

I have a 89 240 and i just took out the single cam ka getting ready to put an sr20 in it..

So, I was looking around and noticed everybody with an sr has their ps reservoir on the drivers side of the engine bay instead of the passenger where mine is...

So my question is, do i need to move my reservoir and if i do, how do i re-connect the hose to the right side? it's only so long.
Heres some pictures of what i mean (hose connects closesly to the passenger side...and the thing it connects to runs to the drivers side of the bay where i see everybody elses reservoir.

1st pic: hose that comes down from the reservoir on the passenger side of bay:

2nd pic: Following the metal ? hose to the drivers side:

3rd pic: where it finally ends up....on drivers side.

So basically, How am i supposed to move the resevoir to the drivers side?

Thanks in advance (I did search!)

So thats the only way to do it? Which "lines" do I need? The ones I was pointing at?

All. also the lines run from the same place from the rack to the ps pump to the reservoir but they mount at the driver side just go to the junk yard and u will see the difference

There's only one junk yard around here so hopefully they have one...
Will lines from a 300zx work? I think my buddy said there was a 300zx at the junk yard.

Also, what exactly is the "rack"? Thanks!

Don't get more confused just look for a 240 twin cam and good luck

Do you think $120 is a good price for all of the lines and reservoir ?

Rack refers to the long bar looking thing on a rack and pinion power steering set up. It houses the actual rack that moves side to side thus moving your tie rods and your wheels. Its the part of your steering assembly that the steering shaft goes into and that sits on the crossmember.

As far as what you need just get all the lines from the power steering assembly from a DOHC. This is the line from the rack to the reservoir, reservoir to pump and pump to rack.

120 dollars... That seems a little steep just look online and at the junk yard

I am currently running the sohc ps lines on my sr20det , due to the fact that the junkyard have only had the sohc cars (what ones ive found). So I just installed the res. on drivers side and redirected the flex part of the hp line. Not a clean application if your looking down at it but is working untill I can have one made.

I would try to find the dohc hp line or have one made. I would do the same but alot of others come before a Hp line.

ah i see.. so you don't think its necesary to get full dohc lines?

I've found power-steering to be difficult on California streets. But it's still useful; unlike having a car that goes up 160mph when you can only go up to 75 barely legal.

whats the difference , its because the dohc is shorter and cleaner looking. Same size diameter.

There are also aftermarket "swap" hp lines out there...

just as an example:
Fujii-SPL Stainless Steel Power Steering Line for S-Chassis Nissan 240sx (http://www.240sxmotoring.com/fuststpostli.html)

So is this the line he was talking about having to zip tie and re-route it up to the pump?

Would this be the only thing i need in order to have PS on SOHC lines? with my sr swap of course.... Thanks!
