I just wanted to post that i got new tires. The only tires i ever ran before these were falken azenis sport, 205-50-15.
This time around i said fuck they wear a tiny bit to quickly for me so i tried my own theory out about tires and came up with
205-50-15 Yoko ES100 in the front
205-50-15 Kumho Ecsta 712 in the rear
First thing i noticed was the sidewalls were waaaaaay softer than the azenis. Actually enough to notice body roll but more so steering response. The car feels a lot friendlier, and the most shocking part about it is i can go faster on these tires than i could on the azenis? The only reason it's possible is cause the azenis are so stiff and they give suddenly compared to these tires. These make noise, bitch, whine, and bitch some more before they let go, and when they do it's more gradual. Also the sidewalls were so stiff it was causing a little bit more understeer than i wanted. Also since s13 naturally understeer, i put stickier tires in the front...Not for the rear to slide out, but for it to slip a little. I feel like the rear pivots better with the car now, cause it's not sliding but it's giving, get it? It's dope. I'm really happy with this setup and i'll have a chance to really test it out on Sunday @ the norcal san jose meet.
