T3/T4 Too big?

sup guys. i recently purchased a t3/t4 for my KAT project. the compressor side is a .60ar and the turbine(exhaust) side is a .63ar.

im not sure if this turbo is too big for me. i like to drive the twisties. but i dont want to take a turn then hit full boost then end up in the mountain. im thinking of selling, but what do you guys think? should i go down to a t25/t28?

I think it is a good setup. What turbine wheel?

It shouldnt be too laggy but not spool as quick as a t28.

Perfect sizing, if you desire a quicker spoolup then switch the exhaust housing to a .48 a/r

Too big? rofl; If I wanted awesome hp then I'd run a t66, nice power band.

My turbo is a t3/t04e 60 trim .63 ar exhaust, stage 3 wheel, and it is a bit laggy and tq reaaaly kicks in hard, it gets about 100 ft lbs in the 3800-4800 rpm range, im not sure if this turbo is that great for road racing, but you'll eventually get used to it and learn to adapt to it. If you want your power to be really smooth and linear then get a smaller turbo

If its for a KA-T project, then it shouldn't be too big. The large displacement of the KA matches well with a large turbo. If you were to try that on a small 2.0 or even a 2.2L, you'd probably complain that it was too laggy. But, I don't think you'll have too much of a problem. Should have boost before 4,000 rpm.... I'm guessing here...

Honestly, and this is not great news, but honestly, the best way to find out is to try it. Install the turbo, take it out for a run or two (or several) and see if you like where and when and how strong the boost comes on. Or, maybe if someone in your area has a KA-T project, maybe you could ask them for a ride (or drive) and see how that turbo matches up to yours and maybe make some assumptions from there on out.

thanks for the replies. unfortunatly i dont know ANY ka-t's in my area. mostly all are SR guys. but its true, i'd just have to try it. maybe a smaller housing would suit my needs. thanks.

oh yeah i cant try it just yet. all i have so far is the manifold, turbo, fittings, and oil lines. i still got a ways to go. im looking to be done about summer to late summer time.
