I need a clutch.
I have 300 lb/ft of torque.
Why don't manufacturers stick a torque number on the clutches they're selling!?
Currently i'm bitching about centerforce.
Suggestions on what I should get? (I like light peddle feel, but I want something that'll last).
Thanks
Maeda

HP doesnt matter to clutches, torque does.

That's exactly why I said 300 lb/ft of torque. :D
AND I edited the other part.

Oh, well some manufacturers do, and for most I'm sure the info is available.
SPEC rates theirs... I think a Stage II will handle what you have, although a Stage III might be "safer". OTOH I've heard that spec quality is shit... so I don't know! My experiences have been mixed... Your call.

ACT or Exedy. Can't go wrong with either one. I have personally used both, and have had no problems with either. I have friend's who have friend many centerforces, and clutch master clutches.

RPS clutch for sure. Great quality and great customer service. They rate theirs by torque. Check out their website. http://www.turboclutch.com or go straight to the page that concerns you. http://www.turboclutch.com/retail-MAX.htm

Spec clutch I think is the best bang for your buck!! :)
Stage III would be perfect

I'm thinking the spec stage 3 is looking good too. =)

I think about all manufacturers rate their clutches by torque. I have a spec III, and it's very grabby. Very hard to launch at the strip because of the sudden, immediate burst of power put to my one wheel, and not very comfortable to drive during rush hour. But, it hasn't slipped :)

i say if it holds the power and its cheap, who cares about the feel of engagement. If you spend over $400 for a clutch, it better perform to your liking. "when in doubt, go Spec!"

I have the Stage 4 in my car and I think it engages smoothly and I have no complaints
