What do you prefer?

What do you guys like better? Kouki 180sx or Kouki S14 and why? I might get a good deal on a s13 hatchback, so I was wondering if I should get it or wait and save more money and get an s14. I've always loved the kouki s14, but the kouki 180sx is pretty sick too. I'm having trouble deciding.

Either one can be had with work. I am a sucker for both. Once my s14 is a kouki I plan to get a s13 type x. they both have their own unique style to them.

Anyways, if you're on the fence between a s13 and s14 get an s14, they're much nicer to sit in and drive. (this is coming from someone who owns an s13 btw)

What will you be using the car for?

If its dailying, id save and get an S14... They are alot more comfortable, and typically have less miles on them being a newer car. I have both, I am building my S13 for track and daily my S14.

Idk how to explain the difference.. Do you follow football at all? If so an s13 is like a kick returner, smaller, nimbler, lighter, (although not by much), and a s14 is like your go-to running back, a lil more meat on the bones. I wanna say s14s are a bit more predictable as well but I haven't driven them enough for that to be a valid opinion. I do know that just driving around town, I enjoy my friends s14 more; its just a lil more civilized than my car is.

Lighter but not much. That big ass glass in the back aint exactly light. S14 is also more balanced, better suspension angles, handles better.

I'd say s14, I love em. 180s are cool but it's just that little bit of extra size that makes the s14s so cool.

My biggest gripe against S13s is that they're too damn twitchy drifting. Some people prefer the twitchiness and is more exciting for them. S14s are alot smoother, I like not having to fight the car and easily control the car with one hand.

Yeah I've noticed that too from watching how people drift in them, the S14s always did seem smoother now that I think about it. lol

if you can afford a kouki s14, then get it. i own an s13 with a 325rwhp s14 sr, and i love drifting it and driving it as hard as i can, but no matter what you do to an s13, it will never ride as good as an s14. if you want something to crash into a wall and not give one f**k about as long as you still have your motor, go with an s13 hatch. if you want something to daily comfortably, get an s14. if you're just going for style, either will suit you well as long as you're willing to pay the price for parts. i personally like the s13 silvia with a rocket bunny kit more than a type x or kouki s14. but i own a hatch. lol

This isn't necessary but since you wanted opinions, go with a s13. I've had both and when driving an s14 I feel it as being a larger/heavier s-chassis compared to the s13's. Also, the s14's dash isn't very appealing. It's really up to you.


The Verts are only ugly when the top is up. With some nice aero, they can really stand out.

Chill out bro, the whole point of this thread was to help give me the pros or cons of each chassis to help me make up my mind since I like them both. I've decided to wait and save up some more money for the S14 though, but thanks anyways. Oh btw I did ask my mom. :rofl: She said the 180sx looks too old and she likes the S14 better. I don't think it looks old but I have to agree that Kouki S14 are dope! :D

My suggestion since you like both.... Get the first good deal you can on either... Then continue to save for the other.


I personally like s14's and don't really care for s13s... Seen some really nice s13's, but they just arent my cup of tea... So it's an easy decision for me. Except verts... Always liked the verts, but not enough to buy one.
