ok here is my problem
when i fill up gas my guage doesn't go up till i park my car and then turn it on again after a little while. now when it adjusts its goes up VERY SLOWLY. i don't think this is normal perhaps im in need of a new floater? if i am where is it located? is it under the rear bench or do i have to drop the whole tank and do it? (i fucking hope not) please if u guys could help me out because its pissing me off and getting on my nerves :smash:

Did you try to install different gauges at all or anythign where you messed directly with the needles? Also trying filling the tank up completely and see if that corrects the problem......also try putting this in the Tech Talk forum and you will get a lot more feedback I am sure.

I know when some people installed reverse gauges etc they had a similar problem....all I can say is to fill up the tank and see if it helps "reset" the floater....if not then I am not quite sure.

My gauge goes up very slowly.. it takes about 2 miles of driving to go from E to F in my s14. But it does go up while I'm moving. In an s14, the tank is accessable from behind the rear seat. No dropping a gastank, but your interior will reik like gas for a few days. Dunno about s13s.

s13s it is located in the trunk. no need to drop the tank, just take off the cover, remove all those annoying small bolts, and pull up your fuel pump assy. maybe you just need to clean off your contact for the floater, or bend the needle on the floater a little to make it contact better, my friend with 90 supra had that problem..

the problem with my car was because i pumped 91 octane and/or my tank was "half full". so waht i did was pump a lower grade 89 and filled it up "half empty". voala. i always pump 1/2 or 3/4 tank with 89 now. donno if this helps but it did for me

I've had the same problem and had good luck swapping the pump/gauge with a used one from the junk yard. Its easy accessing it, but pulling the hoses off the old pump can be a pain. Make sure you disconnect the battery first!

i went to the gas station and i filled my tank up till it over flowed it turned out the float just needed to be moved more. worked for me hope it helps someone else out
