If I were to grab something like this

Would it just bolt in. Just remove the old open differential from the pumpkin, put this in its place?

"Claimed" to be an s14 vLSD.

Of course, I'm not huge eBay fan, but I'm mostly asking "IF". "IF" I had this, would it just bolt in?

Diffs don't "bolt in," but yes, it fits, all 240SX/Silvia/J30 etc. etc. etc. use the same diff carrier. You will however need the VLSD output shafts to go with that diff. You'll also have to swap your ring gear from your open diff to the vlsd.

Or you can make it easy for yourself and save up enough money to get the new KAAZ lsd that can be swapped right in to you open diff and you can still use the open diff output shafts. Just a thought.

The KAAZ and NISMO units are a "drop in", right? You don't need the output shafts with those, do you?

But, anything else you need the output shafts?

correct. . one version of the Kaaz(or Tomei), and one version of the nismo are direct fit into non-lsd pumpkins.

thanks for the heads up.

I'm really not up for the idea of dropping nearly a grand on a LSD unit, though. I guess its back to finding a used unit plus the right output shafts...

umm..let's say you get a pumpkin for 350 and the shafts for 150. (maybe you'll get em cheaper) that's 500 bucks. just get a real lsd. if you can do the whole VLSD for like 300 bucks it's worth it.

300 bucks is too much
never pay more then 250 for a vlsd

used 2way lsds are like 500ish

300 for full pumpkin
talk w/ engine importers/business, they sell that stuff CHEAP

i know i can find some for 250 at times, just takes persistency and calling around to various shops around the country.
