why to pay for a simple box $150 if you can make (or customize) it yourself in couple of hours.

come on... its only a partition between engine and air filter. I could just make a single plate thing...
I'll take stainless steel plate and make a construction for firming up a MAF from one side and from another (inside) for filter, will make a wall from engine side and a top. Just like Apexi one...
I just whanna make shure how it looks (drawings) an original one :) So I won't miss something...

id buy one that seals against the underside of the hood with some foam forces air to be sucked from the area behind the headlight and maybe get a headlight scoop...stick a CAI in that

I was thinking a building one, seals against the hood with foam weatherstripping, and grafting an air scoop off a z31 right above it, for a ram air effect. Make a box out of aluminum sheeting, cut a 3" hole in the side drill 3 holes, bolt bot to maf sandwiching box betweeh maf and a generic maf cone filter adaptor , and throw a large cone in the box.

This may sound corny, but I made one for my last car (an e30 M3) out of cardboard and hitemp hood insulation. Basically it was just a partion made of cardboard with a piece of aluminized hood insulation on both sides that sealed against the hood with a piece of weatherstripping. It worked great, was suprisingly stiff, and even looked nifty. Sorry no pics!

that'd actually work probably better than an aluminum one....
