If I understand correctly to use my 94 j30 dif, I will need 95 plus axels. My question is what kind of permormance gains will i receive or loose with this differential. I know the gearing is different than an s14 lsd. I will be stock for several months and then plan to go turbo. I do not want to loose to much off of the line and or up high. Any imput would be apreciated. Thanks.

Gearing is a bit taller, so the car will be a bit slower in every gear, but you'll be able to stay in a lower gear longer. Overall, it will be a bit slower but hardly noticeable.

I have a 95 J30 VLSD and it works fine for daily and drifting. For the type of driving I plan on doing, the VLSD is total weak sauce compared to NISMO/KAAZ/CUSCO/ATS diffs..

so basicaly its not a huge difference compared to a higher geared lsd. becouse I can stay in a higher gear longer will that make up for the lower gearing.

i had a 97 J30 diff in my S14 and the gearing was not an issue whatsoever. the difference in gearing is VERY slight and you pretty much won't notice it. the performance of the LSD was great compared to stock open diff, but compared to a real clutch type LSD the VLSD isn't even close. it's still good for the price though that's for sure.
