Street Racing Show discovery channel

Anyone else going to watch the street racing show tonight at 9 [eastern time] on the discovery channel? Thought I saw a Silver R32 or R33 in the commercial..couldn't really tell, the frame was so quick. Not real sure how the show is going to go down. Hope it's not riced out.

ABout a month after i started listening to them [about 2 years ago] i looked at their past shows and they had played right down the street right when i started listening. I was pissed. Since then they haven't even drove across the state. One day. htey're coming out with a record by the end of the year, i hope it's good.

Yes I know how it is on these forums. I've been bashed many times on other boards. I like this one...since I drive a 240 and the people here are pretty funny.

This show is fucking retarded.. they swapped motors in a honda from sohc to dohc because "It allows twice the air, which is twice the power and twice the speed." And then someone put "very explosive" nitrous in their car. This show is full of misinformation and bullshit.

well....in a built-ass DSM with N20 and hes running 9 second 1/8 miles? fucking pathetic !

it has a HUGE FMIC and nitrous is all I know,and turned sad sad times....I know DSM's can be fast as shit,but that won't one of them...I turned it on at the last minute.....but now MY show is on...american choppers :)

Sorry for reminding you guys of that show. I was quite disappointed as well. It did seem like it was straight from an mtv real life show. But I was glad to see the Honda lose, plus the girl didn't seem like she knew much at all about the entire damn thing. Her husband knew it too. But i have to saw...that talon looked pretty bad ass.

The talon was pretty quick. It ran a 7.1. The civic was just a joke. A stock 240 could almost pull a 9.9. Anyone notice the tanabe 240 hatch in the background.

Everyone talking about how much the show sucked, will be watching it again next week. The show wasn't that bad to me because, it was about cars. Sure I'm no fan of NOS and wish they had more time to enhance the vehicles but, there's nothing better for me to watch in that time slot. I too will watch next week.

I love DSM's,but they didn't build the thing right AT ALL,you can't just throw a FMIC,and 150shot of N20 on a otherwise stock 1990 mitsubishi....I mean,my '91 has 107k on it,so that thing has to have at least somewhere along there,and he runs it alot,so its old and has been abused......no wonder is broke:(.....I think the prob with the talon crew is that they dicked around too much and didn't have time to do everything they wanted to do...and,they said that they "completely changed their plans" once they saw what the civic was running at....wich was also stupid,why couldn't they have seen through their plans(I don't know what they were?) and still put nitrous on ?

Now that dude has a DSM with too much n20 and abroken damn axle.....real cool,I thought one of the point was to build up the cars for somebody who can't afford it ? :ugh:

EDIT:the other prob w/the dsm crew and the other was...they were definitely some of the most retarted tuners...and that civic was just SAD....b16A swap,intercooled turbocharger and nitrous...and they can't even through a limited slip on there? :down: :down: :down: :down:..."honda power" whew!

OK, I know nothing about drag racing, but I sure as hell know how and open diff works, and if your dumbass goes through a burnout box, you end up with one sticky tire, and one wet tire..... gee, where will all the power go on launch? And why do drag cars and dyno queens always act so secretive of their setup like is life or death. Go to any autoX and everyone will tell you what is done to their car, hell, most of them will let you drive it...


Why does Discovery/TLC have to try to make all their shows into the superdrama thing? We didn't even get to see the damn race! they were too busy trying to capture the looks on everyone's faces. I dunno if anyone else caught it, but there was a good street racing documentary on A&E about 5 years ago. It had some guy up in Canada going around with his Mazda 323 GTX to local street races. As much as I loathe drag racing, I actually found that show informative.

i thought the show wasn't all that great, but it wasn't too bad. what made it real bad was the unnecessary added drama, and the mentality of those two racers, eeesh. that girl was soooo dumb, that guy isn't losing much if they get a divorce. here's to hoping the next one's better
