I've got an issue with the wiring for headlights on my 91 240- corner lights come on but no low beams/high beams. touching a volt meter to the plug I found it was getting 11.82 volts when I grounded it to the chassis, and only .04 when the ground probe was touching the ground pin on the headlight plug.

I'm assuming this is a bad ground then, yes? Where do I go from here? Do I probe for continuity along the harness in the driver's side fender? or is there a specific ground wire or something that this points to?

since that post opened up the wiring harness in the fender and found the wires for headlight ground. In checking the resistance this is what I found:

In this picture you can see that when I make a new ground, the headlight works.

When I'm checking for resistance, I touch one probe to the headlight ground, and one to my new ground. I get an audible beep and '0.0' reading. So why does my headlight not work..?

So ground the damn thing. Cut the negative, put a ring connector on it, tie it down on one of the screws/nuts on the rad support.

well..I can do that of course..just wanted to see if finding the underlying issue was feasible first

You can...that means cutting the harness open and tracing the wire to see where its broke.
