In this poorly written article on Ethanol,
a woman by the name of Sue Cannon makes the following claims -
E-10 caused 2 transmission and 2 radiators to fail on her 2005 Pathfinder, costing $12,000.
On "pure gas" her gas-mileage rises from 13mpg to 20mpg.
She now drives 40 miles round trip to fill up on "pure gasoline".
She also pays 20 cents more per gallon for "pure gasoline".
What next, ground dear antler powder in the intake will reduce the need for frequent oil changes? Use whale-based oil for the engine to increase engine life?

Everyone does, ethanol has less energy in each gallon. Ethanol has (i think) 27% less energy so gallon to gallon, there's no way to get the same miles per gallon. 13 to 20 mpg is not possible, and 20 cents difference on gas vs E-10 is not worth it. Miles per dollar should be considered if you actually care.
She's an idiot.

Ethanol has been shown to damage older vehicles gas lines and rubber seals not designed to work with it. But not in anything made past 2000. She's a twit.

It's hard as fuck to find pure gas, if you look at the pump most have 5-10 percent mix! Anything past that mix can't be labeled as regular gas. Look at the pump its normally a little square stating 10% eathonol Is haded.

There have been multiple class action suits in Florida from boat owners who have had serious damage to their fuel systems and engines due to ethanol in their fuel. Apparently marine fuel systems don't do well with ethanol. From everything I've read, ethanol production is little more than a scam. Corn farmers are getting millions in govt subsidies while we could be using sugar cane ethanol for pennies compared to what we pay for corn ethanol. The problem is that we grow corn, not sugar.
Oh and also this lady is a bit on the whacked side.

Damage to fuel systems is understandable. Damage to radiators or transmissions is not possible.

local stations have a "pure gas" pump for boats/small engines down here. funny thing is most dropped E85 and replaced it with "pure gas/no ethanol".

When the gas stations here switched to 10% Ethanol a few years ago, I remember a news story about a bunch of SRT-4 and Evo owners complaining that the switch ruined expensive tunes on their cars.

E85 is fucking awesome if you are tuned for it. Race Gas Brah.
Most my friends run it and save 45-65 a gallon depending on how the wind blows.

We have local gas stations that carry Pure Gas, but honestly I don't care.
The closest E85 station is over 40 miles away, next to NASA... go figure.
I would love to run E85... there is a company in FL that is growing Algea Based Ethanol for stupid cheap.
Ohhh and LA, HI, FL, and a few other States do grow Sugar Cane... but not nearly as many as Corn, also why its called the Corn Belt!!

For $1,000 you can make your own still that will produce ~ 20 gallons a week at the cost of $3 a gallon at current electricity and corn prices.
Some of my friends wan to do that but for me, the gains on either car would be minimal as I'm rocking a stock SR and the LS327 would need a new carb ($400) and to be bored out with LS1 pistons to utilize any real benefit. (12:1 compression).

Still's to produce ethanol/alchohol are felony illegal even if the fuel is not for consumption. Ethanol vapor is explosive and if you've never seen alcohol burn then you've never seen alcohol burn..

No, it's not. Some States may require a permit.
