Hi guys I'm not sure if I'm putting this in the right place but anyways, I was hoping you guys could recommend some companies in SoCal or any website that can provide me with a quality ka24de crate engine ... Also, what are your opinions on the e-bay crate engines that come in different stages; anyone having experience with those? Thanks in advance!!

,Bobby

Well I was going to build the crate engine.. The only reason I don't want to buy some random person's Ka is because I don't trust people on the condition they say its in. I got burned when I bought my 240;it seem to run great when I first got it then a couple months later, one thing after another started to go on in it. So i figured instead of dropping money into a beat engine why not save up and buy a reliable crate engine that is already refurbished and build it how I want it

I do agree with you on this. Only way to buy a used motor is to see it run and test drive it before its pulled. the rebuild it. thats what i did to my Ka-t.

Exactly, and how often do you have someone that has the motor still in the car when they have it for sale.. Almost never haha. Would you happen to know any places or websites to buy an engine from ?

Need the car running for the time being, that's why I was going to build the other engine on the side.

Gotta have a good base regardless if I'm going to rebuild it .. I'm not trying to buy a blown engine with 300000 miles on it , understand ?

No. Thats dumb. Buy a blown engine for $50 localy and do a full rebuild. Condition no matter. You need a decent block and crank. Your gonna hone/bore it .20 over any ways and get new bearings for the crank after you get it polished. Simple. Its plain fucjing retarted to buy a brand new crate motor just to get it bule printed again

Dude, you'll wind up paying even more at the junk yard. Just buy a blown kade from a local forum member, (check ones cool points, that's what they are for) scrounge up a hundred smackaroos and build the block. All you need is a good base if you're rebuilding it..block, head, crack. Call it a day!

I have a dual cam KA out of a 5spd 95 s14 with a blown head gasket. It was pulled at around 130K miles. Its been sitting in my garage ever since I sold my S14 (had plans to build it up for a turbo). PM me if you're interested. It's located in 90201.
