Well i just upgraded my high pressure line to a earls style high pressure line. My problem is trying to bleed the rack. When the front wheels are off the ground i turn the steering wheel lock to lock (I do this about 50-60 times). The ATF fluid in the reservoir goes up and down and my steering rack makes a swooshing noise, almost as if there is a shitload of air in the rack. Also with the front wheels off the ground I turn my car on and do the same thing, lock to lock (40 or so times). There is a slight hum due to the pump only when I dry steer.

is my rack going bad? pump? its getting pretty frustrating. I dont want to ruin a good rack or pump due to there being air in the system.

i usually do the bleeding process on the ground. did you replace the pump as well or didnt touch it at all?

Didn't touch the pump, changed my high pressure cause the old one was leaking

usually what i do is you have to unbolt the top hardline that goes to the rack from the soft lines (low power lines) or gap it so enough fluid can come out while your turning side to side SLOWLY, and keep an eye on the fluid level, easier to have a pal help you out.
